Impact of lumpy virus in 33 districts
Bhopal: There is an outbreak of Lumpy disease spread among animals in Madhya Pradesh. At present 33 districts of the state are affected by this disease, out of which only 20 districts have been laboratory confirmed so far. Director Animal Husbandry and Dairy said that in the last three months, a total of 25 thousand 691 animals of the state have been affected by this disease, out of which a total of 22 thousand 975 (90 percent) animals have been cured of this disease.
At present there are 2333 active cases in the state, whose regular and continuous treatment is going on. Director Animal Husbandry and Dairy said that a total of 26 lakh 50 thousand animals have been vaccinated by the department. Besides, sick animals are being treated continuously, due to which the number of affected animals and the death rate of animals have decreased in the last 25 days.
Also, no new information about the disease has been received from the district since last one week. To prevent lumpy disease, vaccination and treatment work is being done on war footing in the affected areas. Along with this, daily monitoring is being done by the department for prevention of lumpy skin disease. According to the information received from the districts, the outbreak of the disease seems to be decreasing in the last 25 days and the situation is under control.
