Flood increased farmers’ worries
Bemetra: Heavy rains have started again in the district and Chhattisgarh. The rain that started late at 7 pm on Wednesday continued intermittently throughout the day on Thursday. Rain continued in Thankamhariya area also on Thursday and Friday. In Thankamharia area of Bemetara district, the pool built between village Cheezgaon-Barga and Cheezgaon-Lalpur has been submerged due to rising flood water. Due to this people are facing problems.
People are facing problems in transportation. At the same time, school children are also facing difficulties in going to school. Due to overflowing rivers and streams, crops of paddy, rice, soybean, kodo, tomato and vegetables grown in the fields of many farmers have been completely damaged. Farmers seem worried about their crops. The paddy, soybean and vegetables grown in the fields of hundreds of farmers including farmers Kartik Sahu, Premlal Sahu, Deendayal Yadav, Bedul Nishad, Laxman Nishad have been completely submerged due to waterlogging. In such a situation, the problems of farmers are continuously increasing. Ajay Sahu said that in such a situation, the government should assess the circumstances and provide compensation amount to the farmers.
