Doctor couple injured, hit by car

Jagdalpur: This morning, a speeding car hit a doctor couple traveling on a scooty at Pandaripani turn, 10 km from the city. Both husband and wife suffered serious injuries in this incident. He has been admitted to Mekaj.

Police said that Andhra Pradesh resident Dr. K. Swarnalata (33 years) and her husband Dr. Ananth Narayan were going to church on their scooter on Sunday morning. As soon as they reached near Pandaripani turn, the driver of a speeding car coming from Jagdalpur hit him from the front. The incident was so severe that the front part of the car was completely damaged, and the air bag installed in the car also got opened. The husband and wife were seriously injured in this incident. They were brought to Mekaj with the help of another vehicle, where as soon as they got information that both of them were injured, Mekaj Superintendent Dr. Anugrah Sahu along with a team of other doctors reached the spot. The injured have been admitted to SICU for better treatment.
