Railways refunded Rs 40 lakh to 4 thousand passengers
Rajnandgaon: Passengers who had made advance reservations to travel in trains had to postpone their journey and cancel their tickets due to trains being cancelled. Passengers canceled 4232 tickets from Rajnandgaon station in the months of July and August, while Railways had to refund about Rs 40 lakh to the passengers due to cancellation of tickets. Due to maintenance and development, Railways has again canceled 21 trains from 26th to 9th October. A total of 21 trains include 6 local trains running between Dongargarh to Raipur and connecting trains of other routes. The problems of passengers may increase due to cancellation of trains. Along with SECR zone, development work is going on in other railway zones. Under this, the work of connecting the third and fourth railway lines will also be done. Railway officials say that the trains have been canceled due to maintenance work being done in various railway sections to increase the speed of trains and keeping safety in mind. The work of connecting the third line of South Central Railway to Vijayawada will be done between September 26 and October 10. Due to this work, some trains passing through Chhattisgarh have been cancelled. Many trains will run through the diverted route.
Chennai Express canceled on 8th, routes of some trains changed
According to the information received from Railways, train number 12851 Bilaspur-Chennai Express will be canceled on October 8. 12852 Chennai-Bilaspur Express will remain canceled on 9th October. On 3rd and 10th October, train number 22819 Bilaspur-Tirnelveli Express will leave on the diverted route Ballarshah-Kazipet Secunderabad Junction- Sulehalli Guntakal-Renigunta. In the other direction, on October 8, the same train 22820 Tirunelveli-Bilaspur will run on the same route. On 9th, 22819 Bilaspur-Ernakulam Express will depart from Renigunta Junction via diverted route Ballarshah-Kazipet Junction-Secunderabad Junction-Sulehalli-Guntakal.
MEMU local running between Dongargarh and Raipur canceled
Train number 08729 Raipur-Dongargarh MEMU Passenger Special will remain canceled from 26th September to 5th October. 08730 Dongargarh to Raipur Memu local will remain canceled from 27th September to 6th October. Train number 08701 and 08702 Raipur-Durg-Raipur local will remain canceled from 26th September to 5th October. 08721 Raipur-Dongargarh Memu local will remain canceled from 26th September to 5th October. 08723 Dongargarh-Gondia Memu local will remain canceled from 26th September to 5th October. 08723 Gondia-Raipur Memu local will remain canceled from 27th September to 6th October. Some connecting trains have been canceled on Raipur-Gevraroad-Raipur, Bilaspur-Shahdol-Bilaspur, Itwari-Balaghat-Itwari, Gondia-Katangi-Gondia, Gondia-Wadsa-Gondia, Gondia-Chandafort-Gondia routes.
Railways refunded Rs 18 lakh in July, Rs 21 lakh in August
Rajnandgaon Railway Station Manager RK Burman said that in the month of July alone, 1905 tickets were cancelled. Railways has refunded Rs 18 lakh 65 thousand 933 to the passengers and Rs 21 lakh 1 thousand 993 has been refunded to the passengers after 2327 tickets were canceled in the month of August. This includes passengers traveling in large numbers on one ticket and also includes passengers who have postponed their journey due to personal reasons. Even in September, Railways has canceled a large number of trains due to maintenance work in various railway sections. But due to cancellation of trains in September, the information about cancellation of tickets and refund given to passengers by Railways will be revealed at the end of this month.
