Rayagada Maa Majhighariani temple’s donation box opened, Rs 68 lakh found
Rayagada: The donation box of the Maa Majhighariani temple in Rayagada of Odisha was opened after 3 months on Wednesday. Reportedly, Rs 68 lakh 74 thousand 140 rupees were found.In addition, 53 grams of gold and 1 kg 797 grams of silver was also found. Even some foreign currency notes and some other currencies which are not in use now was also found.Goddess Maa Majhighariani is the prime deity of Rayagada.As per reports, as many as 9 hundis (donation boxes) of the temple were opened and the counting began at 9 am. The counting of the money finished in the evening.
The counting was conducted in presence of the tehsildar, temple management authority, and the officials of the endowment department amid tight security.About 150 temple workers and 2000 people from volunteer organizations were engaged in this counting.Reportedly, the money will be deposited in the Union Bank and this money will be spent on the improvement of the temple’s surroundings and the betterment of the devotees, said the chairman of the temple management committee.The volunteers of the SHG groups who have been engaged in the counting process felt themselves lucky to get this divine opportunity to count the money of the Goddess.
