Code of conduct will remain in force in Chhattisgarh till December 5, Chief Electoral Officer held a press conference
Raipur: Chief Electoral Officer of Chhattisgarh, CEO Reena Kangale told in a press conference that the code of conduct has been implemented in the state. Which will remain in force till December 5. He said that 24109 polling stations will be established in the state. Out of these, webcasting i.e. live telecast of voting taking place in 12 thousand polling stations can be seen.
According to Kangale, 17 thousand polling stations will be established in rural areas and 3 thousand in urban areas. This time there has been an increase of 9.5 percent voters in the state compared to 2018. A total of more than 2 crore voters will vote in this election. There are 1012 women voters for every 1000 men in the state. Kangale said that 20920 polling places will be established. In every centre, one assistant each will be appointed among the elderly and disabled voters.
As per the instructions of the Commission, apart from the photo identity card, 12 other photo cards can also be used for voting. A maximum of 1500 voters will be able to vote in each polling station. If it is more then an auxiliary polling station will be set up. However, it is our endeavor to establish as few such support centers as possible. This time the Commission has given the facility to 80 plus disabled and Covid infected voters to cast their vote from home. There are 17 NRI voters registered in the state. There are 7 lakh 23 thousand 771 voters aged between 17 to 19 years. There are 1,86,215 voters above 80 years of age and 2462 voters above 100 years of age. While there are 19 839 military service voters. 790 voters of third gender will also vote in the state.
