In a statement released on social media platform Facebook, police said officers deployed at the airport saw a woman walking towards the south terminal with a knife in her hand outside the security checkpoint at around 4.45 pm on Wednesday. According to the statement, “The officers asked the woman to drop the knife and they continued to convince the woman to move out of the passenger area for a long time.” As an attempt was made to detain the woman, she was attacked by another woman. And attacked a police officer with a knife. Police said that after a lot of effort, another officer snatched the knife from the woman. Authorities later learned that the woman had attacked another man with a knife before entering the airport. According to the statement, “Preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the taxi in which the woman had come to the airport was attacked. After this she entered the airport where after some time she also attacked two other people. Officials said that all the injured were taken to the hospital, where their condition is stable. However, the name of the woman has not been disclosed. Investigators are trying to find out the reason behind this attack. “There is minor impact on airport operations due to this incident,” the airport management said.
