Prime Minister Narendra Modi said a big thing amid Israel-Hamas war

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the G20 Parliamentary Speakers Summit held in the capital Delhi. During this, he said that this conference is in a way a Mahakumbh of different Parliamentary Practices from all over the world. During this, PM Modi said that this is the time for peace and brotherhood, the time to move together, the time to move forward together.

During this, while referring to terrorism, PM Modi said, ‘This is the time for everyone’s development and welfare. We have to overcome the global development crisis and move forward on human-centric thinking. We have to look at the world from the perspective of One Earth, One Family and One Spirit. India has been facing cross-border terrorism for decades. Here terrorists have killed thousands of innocent people. Terrorists had also targeted our Parliament about 20 years ago. Parliament is in session at that time. The terrorists were preparing to take the MPs hostage and eliminate them. India has reached here after dealing with many such terrorist incidents.

Taking aim at the hypocrisy of the global world regarding the definition of terrorism, PM Modi said, ‘Now the world is also realizing how big a challenge terrorism is. Wherever terrorism happens, for whatever reason, in whatever form it happens, it is against humanity, in such a situation we all have to be continuously strict regarding terrorism. However, there is another global aspect to it, towards which I would like to draw your attention, it is very sad that there is no consensus on the definition of terrorism. Even today, the International Convention on Incumbent Terrorism is waiting for consensus in the UN. The enemies of humanity are taking advantage of this attitude of the world. Parliaments and representatives across the world will have to think about how we can work together in this fight against terrorism.

Referring to India’s parliamentary democracy, PM Modi said that India’s parliamentary processes have continuously improved over time. He said that these processes have become more powerful and in India we consider General Elections as the biggest festival. PM Modi said that since independence in 1947, 17 general elections and more than 300 state assembly elections have been held in India.

The Prime Minister said, ‘No one has remained untouched by whatever is happening today in different corners of the world. Today the world is facing crises and a world full of these crises is not in anyone’s interest. A divided world cannot provide solutions to the major challenges facing humanity. This is a time of peace and brotherhood, a time to walk together and move forward together. This is the time for everyone’s development and welfare.
