7 kg silver anklets seized, youth could not give valid documents to police
Bilaspur: Due to the assembly elections in Chhattisgarh, the police are constantly keeping an eye on suspicious activities. Today, during checking of vehicles, Sarkanda Police has seized 7 kg silver anklets from a private vehicle, the value of which is said to be Rs 5 lakh. The police took action for not presenting any valid documents regarding the jewellery. Apart from this, cash worth Rs 7 lakh has also been recovered.
On the instructions of the Election Commission, Bilaspur Police is continuously checking vehicles. During surprise checking near Kali Mandir, Tifra in Sirgitti area, Rs 7 lakh in cash was recovered from a private vehicle. The money was duly confiscated as no valid document was produced on the spot regarding the amount. During checking in Rajkishore Nagar of Sarkanda police station area, 7 kg silver anklets worth Rs 5 lakh were duly seized for being carried without any valid document. On Monday also, Bilaspur police had seized Rs 15.95 lakh from three different vehicles. Along with this, 705 pieces of clothes and a pickup utensil were seized.
