4 lakh cash seized from Bolero, flying squad got success during checking
Raigarh: Under Jutmil police station area, Jutmil Police and Flying Squad (FST) have taken action as per law by seizing Rs 15 lakh 64 thousand 500 cash from three cars. It is known that as per the instructions of the Election Commission, at the time of transportation of cash more than ₹ 50,000, the person concerned will have to present appropriate documents to the police/flying squad.
Local police and flying squads are continuously carrying out investigation in all the assembly constituencies of the district. In the same sequence, last night the officers and employees of FST Team-2 visited the designated sector and checked the posters put up illegally, political propaganda using loudspeakers without permission and transportation of illegal publicity material and suspicious property on Boirdadar Road. On suspicion of theft, vehicles were being checked with Chakradharnagar police. Meanwhile, after stopping and checking a white colored Bolero vehicle number CG 12 BZ 6933, some suspicious object was seen in a bag next to the driver seat. Mahipal Singh, father Shivcharan Singh, age 61, resident of Krishna Nagar police station Kotwali Raigarh, present in the vehicle, when questioned about the bag, said that there was cash in the bag. On checking by the team, the bag contained notes of Rs 500, Rs 100 and Rs 20, a total of Rs 4. Found to be ,01,120. After interrogating Mahipal Singh regarding the money, giving him a formal notice as per the guidelines of the Election Commission, the police took action to seize the suspicious amount on the spot under Section 102 CrPC. Gaurav Patel (GST), Shri Prashant Rao Aher (Inspector Police Station Incharge Chakradharnagar), Head Constable Satish Pathak, Constable Vinoj Lakra, Forest Guard Rajesh Oraon and driver Mel Prakash Minj have played an important role in the proceedings.
