Ousted JDS president asks former PM Deve Gowda to be prepared for results
Bengaluru: JD(S) ousted state president C.M. Ibrahim challenged his removal from the post and warned former Prime Minister Deve Gowda to be prepared to face consequences.
“I will soon approach the Karnataka High Court and the Election Commission,” Ibrahim said.
Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru on Thursday after the announcement of the ouster verdict, Ibrahim addressed Deve Gowda and said, “I am the president and you cannot remove me.” We will approach the Election Commission and the High Court to get a stay order. They cannot do this until the matter is resolved in court.
“It is not possible to remove him from the post of JD(S) party state president,” he said. They don’t have the power to throw me out. According to the JD(S) constitution, three-fourth of the party members should issue a notice to me asking me to call a meeting. Once I call the meeting, the no-confidence motion has to be brought there. This is the process.”
Ibrahim further said that Deve Gowda had taken the decision on Thursday and I am fasting today. They should not forget that my son had died in Hubli on the same Thursday. Even after that, I took the initiative to resolve the Idgah Maidan dispute and strengthened your government. Today you are sacrificing others for your son.
After removing me, you appointed JD(S) MLA G.T. Why was Deve Gowda not made the state president? Why didn’t you do this? Your blind love for your son has come out openly. You have provoked me and you should not have done so. Be prepared for consequences. God is there. This news made me more excited.
Ibrahim further said that the Kerala and Tamil Nadu state units of the party have taken their decisions in this regard. I always thought you were like my father. Is this the love given to a son? I came to you while my tenure as MLC was for four years. How many more houses will you destroy?
Apart from this, Ibrahim said that former Prime Minister Deve Gowda ji, you are 95 years old, I join hands. You made JD(S)’s Tippe Swamy call and ask him to meet you to discuss the alliance. Today you have taken this decision. Time is the best teacher. Too much mind will result in destruction. Just as Duryodhana faced a bad fate in the Mahabharata, the same fate will befall the JD(S) party.
Former Prime Minister and JD(S) national president H.D. Deve Gowda on Thursday announced the removal of state president C.M. Ibrahim and appointed former chief minister and his son H.D. Kumaraswamy was appointed to this post.
It may be noted that Deve Gowda had announced that State President Ibrahim had been dismissed. The committee headed by Ibrahim has been dissolved. This is not an expulsion. He has been honorably removed from the post. (IANS).
