From RRTS to pod taxis: Transport revolution awaits in Noida and Ghaziabad
Ghaziabad/Noida: Better transport connectivity in the country opens new dimensions of development and makes people’s lives easier and simpler. At present, Ghaziabad and Noida of Uttar Pradesh are getting the gift of many new transport mediums one after the other. Jewar Airport in Noida is a huge dimension of new transport as well as metro connectivity, pod taxi, rapid rail. In the coming days, development will be seen taking wings in Western Uttar Pradesh and its surrounding districts.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has gifted the first Rapidex train to the country. The Prime Minister inaugurated the Rapidex Rail by flagging off the train at Sahibabad station on October 20 and himself entered the platform after purchasing the ticket. During this, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, BJP State President Bhupendra Chaudhary were present.
Some students were also present with him during the journey, that is, by traveling like a common man in this railway journey, the Prime Minister is giving the message that the common man of Uttar Pradesh will travel in the world’s best high speed train and his journey will now be easy and pleasant. It will be more beautiful and during this journey, by doing the process of purchasing the ticket yourself, it gave the same message that how easy it will be to buy the ticket and travel.
The first phase of Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor has been inaugurated. The Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor is 82 kilometers long. About Rs 30 thousand crores are being spent on this project. At present its first phase is starting, which is 17 kilometers long from Sahibabad station to Duhai depot in Ghaziabad. Meanwhile, there are a total of five stations which include Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai and Duhai Depot. Initially 10 to 13 trains will run on this track. This journey will be completed in just 11 to 12 minutes. The train will run at a speed of 160 kilometers per hour.
In the second phase, this train will be run up to Meerut South station in the year 2024. Whereas in the year 2025, rapid rail will run on the entire corridor Delhi-Meerut. The fare from Duhai depot to Sahibabad station in the ordinary coach of Rapid Rail will be Rs 50. If you travel in premium coach then this fare will be doubled. Its operating time will be from 6 am to 11 pm. There will be no fare for children up to 90 cm height. In this, passengers can take with them a bag weighing maximum 25 kg.
New schemes are taking off one after the other in Yamuna Authority area. Due to the airport being built in Jewar, the development of this area is expected to be very rapid and at the same time, efforts are also being made to settle this entire area in a unique way in NCR. Earlier there was a plan to run pod taxis in the residential and industrial sectors of Yamuna Authority. Now, along with that, preparations are being made to implement the plan to run tram there also. Yamuna Authority has sent the DPR of pod taxi to the government. Work on this scheme will start after approval from the government.
Yamuna Authority officials have started studying many cities for planning to run trams and city buses in their residential and industrial sectors. With these facilities, people will be able to travel from each block of the sector without any hassle at low cost. On one hand, city bus service will be connected to each block of the sector, while on the other hand, tram will be run on every 30 meter wide road. Apart from Film City and industrial sectors, DPR has already been prepared for pod taxis in residential sectors. Both residential sectors 18 and 20 of YIDA are located within a radius of about 10 kilometers.
Apart from this, Yamuna Authority has allotted land to more than 3000 companies. Whereas some companies have also started production here. Once the companies are started in the area, about 2.5 to 3 lakh people will get employment in different companies. In view of the poor transport system of Noida and Greater Noida, Yamuna Authority has already started planning to provide better connectivity.
Along with this, Yamuna Authority has also informed that the authority has prepared DPR to build the metro corridor from Noida Airport to New Delhi Railway Station. This corridor will be about 77 kilometers long. At present, a survey is being conducted regarding the corridor of Aqua Blue Line. After that the tender process will start.
The city residents are soon going to get the gift of good transport. For this, 37 routes have been finalized from Jewar to Greater Noida West in Gautam Buddha Nagar. Uttar Pradesh State Transport Corporation has finalized 37 routes for the operation of PM e-bus service. Noida Authority has also completed preparations. Soon, 100 midi buses (9 meter) will be started operating from Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) City Bus Depot located in Sector-90.
Let us tell you that Noida, Greater Noida, Jewar Airport have been included in the prepared route. The work of preparing Request for Proposal (RFP) for bus operation has been started by Noida Traffic Cell (NTC). On Wednesday, NTC held talks with UMTC representatives regarding Route 37, due to which there was a detailed discussion on connecting the entire district to the city bus service network. In the operation of city bus, service will be made available to the city residents from 5 am to 11 pm.
