Meerut (Uttar Pradesh): Three junior doctors of Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut have been suspended after a case was registered for assaulting relatives of a boy who was brought to the hospital for treatment.
On Tuesday, the college principal constituted an inquiry committee to investigate the matter. According to reports, the incident took place on Monday night, when five-year-old child Kunal was brought to the hospital after he sustained injuries on his hand.
It is alleged that four to five junior doctors beat up the boy’s family members, circle officer Arvind Kumar said. According to the complaint, the child was crying due to pain so the relatives asked the doctors to give him “proper treatment”.
Police said that this enraged the doctor and an argument broke out between the two parties, following which the family members, including the women, were beaten up. He told that when the police reached the spot, the accused doctors ran away. Kumar said the incident was being investigated and a case had been registered against unidentified doctors.
