Another eye donation from Jain community
Durg. After the death of Shri Sanjay Soitkar (Jain) (58 years), resident of Durg Aditya Nagar, the family donated eyes and provided eyesight to two people. Raj Aadhtiya, Kulwant Bhatia, Rajesh Parakh, Ritesh Jain, Jitendra Kariya were present the entire time and helped in completing the eye donation process. Eye donation was completed with the consent of Sanjay Soitkar’s wife Sangeeta, son Shubham, daughter Diksha and sister-in-law Satyendra Godha.
Dr. Pushpendra Lahare of Shri Shankaracharya Medical College, Vishal Uike reached Sanjay Soitkar’s residence at 2 midnight and collected the corneas. Dr. Pushpendra Lahare said that soon the corneas will be transplanted to two people. Shubham, son of Mr. Sanjay Soitkar, said that after the death of his father, there is mourning in the entire family. Today two people will get the sight of his eyes and his family is sad about his father’s demise, but his father is always an inspiration to the family and society.
Will keep giving. Sanjay Soitkar’s brother-in-law, Satyendra Godha, said that Sanjay ji left this world at a very young age, but while leaving, he gave new light to two families. Satyendra Godha informed that in the past too, 4 people from his family have donated their eyes and now Eye donation has become a tradition in our family. Rajesh Parakh, member of Navdrishti Foundation, said that due to the efforts of our organization, awareness about eye donation is continuously increasing in the society and Jain community is leading in this.
