A man pretending to be a policeman cheated dozens of women in the name of government job
Dewas : A man was arrested for allegedly duping several women on the pretext of government job in Dewas on Wednesday. The accused posed as a police inspector and promised government jobs to several women and students in exchange of hefty amount. Upon verifying these claims, the police team took prompt action to apprehend the suspect.
According to local reports, the police initiated a search for the suspect, leading to his arrest. During interrogation, the suspect identified himself as Devkaran, also known as Ramprasad, hailing from Baidakhedi, Sehore district. It was revealed that he had been involved in fraudulent job appointments in government departments.
The suspect was found in possession of various government documents, and upon further questioning, he admitted to creating fake appointment letters and advertisements for government jobs, along with creating fake seals and appointment letters.
The police have notified relevant departments based on the information provided by the suspect and are working to ensure all accomplices are brought to justice. The accused has been arrested, produced in court, and subsequently sent to jail. According to the police, the accused had been evading arrest for nearly eight years.
