Case registered against two youths for raping the girl and assaulting the victim.
Meerut: A case has been registered against two youths, residents of the same village, for raping a girl and assaulting the victim in Sarurupur area of Meerut district. The police have taken one accused into custody.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural Area) Kamlesh Bahadur said on Thursday that a 22-year-old girl, resident of a village in Sarurupur police station area, had left home to go to the public service center for some work. She was waiting for the tempo at Harra turn on Meerut-Baraut road. Meanwhile, two youths living in the same village came on a motorcycle and asked for a lift to Sarurupur. Since he was a young man from the village, the girl sat in his car.
He told that it is alleged that the youth raped the girl at a secluded place on the way by threatening her with a pistol. In this case, a case has been registered against the accused youth and one of them has been taken into custody. The accused are being interrogated. It is also alleged that after complaining to the police, an accused youth abused and assaulted the victim’s family.
