16 thousand pieces of saree found in truck, worth Rs 1 crore

Mahasamund: Mahasamund Police has achieved great success during the checking campaign in view of the elections. Police have seized a large quantity of sarees from the truck. The value of the seized sarees is said to be Rs 1 crore. The matter is of Singhoda police station area.

According to the information received, the police team was checking vehicles at Rehtikhol check point in Singhoda police station area of the district. During investigation, police recovered 16 thousand pieces of sarees from Eicher truck number MH 04 LE 5608 coming from Odisha. After this, the police asked the truck driver for documents regarding these sarees, but the driver did not provide any valid document. On this the police arrested Jharkhand resident Sahdev Rana. The total value of the seized saree is said to be around Rs 1 crore. According to the information, these sarees were being taken to Surat from Chirkunda, Dhanbad in Jharkhand.
