Deputy CM and Revenue Minister targeted
Shimla. Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri and Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi have slammed the BJP for making political gains on the natural disaster. In a joint statement issued here on Friday, the Deputy CM and the Cabinet Minister have said that Himachal BJP is responsible for not receiving Rs 4950 crore of disaster claims from the Central Government. It is because of BJP leaders that the Center has withheld this amount.
The state government had sent the first claim note of Rs 6746 crore for the loss due to the disaster to the Central Government on August 10. After that, a revised claim note of Rs 9900 crore was sent on October 10. Deputy CM and Revenue Minister said that 50 percent of the total claim i.e. Rs 4950 crore is the right of Himachal Pradesh. This amount should be released immediately by the Central Government so that the rehabilitation and reconstruction work of the people can be expedited.
