Renowned Sand Artist Sudarsan Pattnaik wishes Virat Kohli a happy birthday with sand sculpture
Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of Indian cricketer Virat Kohli’s 35th birthday, renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik crafted a spectacular sand sculpture at Puri sea beach in Odisha.
The extraordinary creation, towering at 7 feet in height, portrayed Virat Kohli within a replica of the iconic Eden Gardens cricket stadium. To enhance the sculpture further, Pattnaik incorporated 35 sand bats and included several sand-made cricket balls, utilizing approximately 5 tons of sand throughout the process. Pattnaik collaborated with students from his Sand Art Institute to bring this exceptional tribute to life.
Sudarsan Pattnaik extended his birthday wishes to Virat Kohli through his intricate sand sculpture, not only celebrating the cricket maestro’s special day but also conveying best wishes to the entire Indian cricket team as they prepared for the upcoming World Cup.
Sudarsan Pattnaik, a recipient of the Padma award and an internationally acclaimed sand artist, has been a prominent figure in the field, having participated in over 65 international sand art competitions and festivals. He has received numerous awards and accolades for his contributions to the country.
In addition to his artistic achievements, Pattnaik utilizes his sand sculptures as a medium to raise awareness on critical issues. Some of his notable works address topics such as tiger conservation, environmental protection, counter-terrorism, global warming mitigation, and the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
