Leopard terror ends in Nuapada of Odisha as forest officials nab the big cat
In a recent update regarding the leopard menace in Nuapada, the forest authorities have successfully captured the large feline, as reported on Sunday.
The issue of leopard-related disturbances had persisted in Nuapada district of Odisha for an extended period. On October 31, it had claimed the life of a cow, devouring it within a cowshed, leaving the local community in shock.
Tragically, a distressing incident occurred on Monday when an 8-year-old boy was discovered deceased, allegedly dragged away by a leopard in the Nuapada district of Odisha.
According to the available information, the young boy, identified as the son of Human Majhi from Katingapani village, had been playing on the veranda of his home when a leopard suddenly appeared. In response, some villagers raised an alarm and pursued the predator. Fearing confrontation with the locals, the leopard abandoned the child midway and fled into the nearby forest. Regrettably, by the time the villagers reached the child, he had already passed away.
Following this shocking event, a team of local forest officials promptly arrived in the village after being alerted and initiated an investigation.
