Puducherry government to set up medical college in Karaikal soon
Puducherry: Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy on Friday said a government medical college will soon be set up in the Karaikal region to meet the growing aspiration for medical education among the youth.
Puducherry already has a government medical college named after former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. He said, now there will be a medical college in Karaikal.
Addressing reporters in his chamber, the Chief Minister said, “My government gives priority to education and as per our policy we have decided to establish a medical college in the state in Karaikal region.” Rangasamy said that a The Nursing College will be established in Puducherry at the behest of the Territorial Government. He said that laptops will be given to school children in the next few days.
Claiming that infrastructure development is becoming a priority and tourism is also being encouraged in the Union Territory, the Chief Minister said all promises made to the people in the House will be implemented.
He said that the government machinery is ready to ensure that all the welfare measures developed by the government are implemented without wasting any time.
He said that the government also pays special attention to the welfare of fishermen and Adi Dravidians. PWD Minister K Lakshminarayanan was also present.
