Newborn dies in medical college, family members create ruckus

Korba: There was a stir at Korba Medical College Hospital when a newborn baby died just hours after birth. When his temperature rose after midnight, his mother took him to the State Scientific Centre, where the medical personnel on duty administered medicine to the child. We are talking about Balko police station area. The family claims that the health worker was sleeping and due to her negligence the innocent child died. In connection with the situation, the leadership created an investigative commission. According to the information, Rahul Singh lives in Parsabantha under Balco police station. He works with children. Rahul Singh’s wife Putum Singh was pregnant for the third time. She was admitted to the Medical College Hospital due to contractions on Friday.

Here on Friday afternoon at around 12.30 pm the mother gave birth to a child. Family members say that the doctor had declared the newborn to be healthy. The mother and child were taken to a room on the first floor of the hospital. Here at around 2 o’clock in the night the newborn suddenly got fever. Then the mother and child reached SNCU ward. An employee used to work here. He gave many medicines. The newborn baby died after some time. Family members say that the nurse was sleeping. She gave the girl a large dose of medicine at bedtime. Because of this an innocent child died. The family members complained not only to the Civil Lines police station but also to the hospital management. After this came to light, the hospital management immediately formed a five-member inquiry commission of doctors. It has been asked to submit the investigation report on this matter within 10 days. It has been told that if found guilty, action will be taken as per rules against the employee under investigation.
