Mumbai : A criminal tried to rob a Bank of Baroda ATM to steal cash on Saturday afternoon in Mumbai’s Borivali West. He also set the machine on fire, but could not reach the cash slot. After being unsuccessful in this incident which happened in broad daylight, the man left the place and was wandering here and there. At the same time, the patrol team of Borivali police station caught him on the basis of suspicion.
An official said a complaint was lodged by Bank of Baroda Shimpoli branch manager Deepak Shahkar, reporting the incident at the ATM located next to the branch premises. A police patrol team patrolling the area found Omkar V. Shilavant, 21, resident of Satara, who was moving around suspiciously. When he was taken for questioning, the police were unaware that he was a criminal. Deputy Commissioner of Police Ajay Kumar Bansal said that the accused has been arrested.
