There was a fire in the train, but there was no loss of life due to this
New Delhi: A major accident has occurred in Gwalior. Here a massive fire broke out in the AC coach of a train in which the bogie was burnt to ashes. The accident happened in Bundelkhand Express when the train started from Varanasi and reached Gwalior. First smoke was seen coming out from the coach of the train and later the bogie was seen burning in flames. It was fortunate that the fire broke out in the coach when it had left the platform and reached the yard. In such a situation there was no loss of life.
This train left from Varanasi last night and reached Gwalior in the morning. After disembarking all the passengers on the platform, the train pilot took the train to the yard for maintenance. But after a while smoke started coming out from that train. It was around 12 o’clock then.
Seeing the smoke, there was panic at the station. When the staff saw, a bogie was burning. The staff first tried to control the fire at their level. Meanwhile, fire brigade vehicles also reached there and after an hour’s effort the fire was extinguished.
According to railway sources, there has been a lot of damage in AC coach B4 in this fire, but if the fire was not controlled quickly, it could have engulfed the bogies of another train standing in the yard. However, the fire was brought under control immediately.
