66 thousand cases of breaking traffic rules were reported in 10 months

Sikar. Drivers are putting their lives and that of others at risk by showing serious negligence towards traffic rules. This has been revealed in the action taken by the traffic police from 1 January to 9 November 2023. During this period, 66130 drivers broke traffic rules in the district. Whereas in 2022, the total number of traffic rule violators was 56763. According to traffic department data, 40370 drivers were caught over speeding. 1148 drivers were caught driving in the wrong lane in the city and 394 drivers were caught driving in the wrong lane on the National-State Highway.

Along with this, 4525 drivers were caught driving two-wheelers without helmets and 5449 drivers were caught driving without seat belts. 115 drivers were found who were driving under the influence of alcohol. While 606 drivers were caught talking on mobile.
According to traffic police data, 685 cases of road accidents were registered across the district during this period. 358 people lost their lives in these accidents. 670 people were injured. Last year, the police had identified 18 black spots with the highest number of road accidents in the district. In these ten months, the traffic police has processed 66130 challans and collected Rs 1.80 crore from the drivers.

Apart from this, the traffic police has sent the licenses of 412 drivers who broke traffic rules to the transport department. Awareness campaigns were conducted several times to follow traffic rules. Despite this, drivers are putting their lives at risk by disobeying the rules. Police will continue to take strict action against those who break traffic rules. Under the leadership of traffic incharge of Sikar traffic police Hemraj Meena, 3840 drivers broke the no parking rule and 27 parked their vehicles in nine entries.

At the same time, 92 people did not put number plates on their vehicles and challans worth Rs 2873 were issued to those who gave three passengers on bike and scooter. 3 drivers were found driving negligently. While 27 drivers were driving without a license. 814 had put black film on their vehicles against the rules.
