President and PM paid tribute to Lord Birsa Munda
New Delhi (ANI): At a function in the Parliament complex today, President Draupadi Murmu paid tribute to tribal leader Lord Birsa Munda on his birth anniversary, which is observed as Tribal Pride Day.
President Murmu was joined by Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Meenakshi Lekhi and other dignitaries to honor Lord Birsa Munda. The ceremony symbolized the expression of respect to the tribal hero who dedicated his life to preserve the independence and identity of the motherland.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla went to Ax to convey his good wishes.
“On the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda ji, a heartfelt tribute to the symbol of tribal bravery, ‘Dharti Aaba’, who sacrificed everything to protect the independence of the motherland and the identity of the tribal society, I extend my heartiest congratulations on this occasion of celebrating tribal pride. In honor of”, he said in a post on X.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also visited Lord Birsa Munda Memorial Park and Freedom Fighters Museum in Ranchi and paid floral tributes to Birsa Munda.
The Prime Minister was also accompanied by Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda and Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan.
In his message on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda, the Prime Minister said in his post on X, “Regards to Lord Birsa Munda ji on his birth anniversary. My very best wishes to my family members across the country on this special occasion.” Tribal Pride Day.”
