Stone pelted for messaging sister-in-law, 5 injured, FIR registered
New Delhi: Five individuals sustained injuries following a brawl and stone-throwing incident in East Delhi aimed at conveying a message to a particular individual’s sister-in-law. The injured parties were identified as Anurag (20), Ishaan (16), Badal (19), Ismit (14), and Bulbul (34). The Kalyanpuri police station received a PCR call on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, reporting a confrontation in 12 Block (Kalyanpuri). Responding to the call, a police team promptly arrived at the scene.
Subsequent interrogation revealed that a 16-year-old boy had messaged Anurag’s 16-year-old sister-in-law, sparking objections from Anurag who warned the boy against communicating with his relative. Around 10:45 pm, Anurag and a friend confronted the minor at 12-13 Block Chowk, leading to an altercation that escalated into a physical altercation. The minor contacted acquaintances, resulting in a stone-throwing episode.
Consequently, Anurag, Ishaan, Badal, Ismit, and Bulbul were injured during the scuffle and stone-pelting. All injured parties were promptly taken to LBS Hospital. The police have filed a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. One of the suspects, Jassi alias Jagpal Singh, was successfully apprehended during the investigation, with two prior involvements discovered in his record.
Authorities are actively pursuing the remaining suspects. “Further investigation is ongoing,” stated the officer leading the case.
