In view of Chhath Puja, Kejriwal government took a big step

New Delhi. The festival of Chhath Puja has started on Friday. In view of this, Arvind Kejriwal government of Delhi has taken a big step. The Excise Commissioner of Delhi Government has declared 19th November as Dry Day in Delhi on the occasion of Chhath Puja. This means that liquor shops will remain closed in Delhi on Sunday. During this period, liquor will not be sold in shops or liquor shops. Earlier, the Excise Department of Delhi Government had declared 6 dry days from October to December last month.

Officials had said that 637 retail shops in the city, run by four government corporations, would be closed on October 2 (Gandhi Jayanti), October 24 (Dussehra), October 28 (Valmiki Jayanti), November 12 (Diwali), November 27 (Guru Nanak Jayanti). And will remain closed on 25th December (Christmas). It is noteworthy that the Excise Department of the government declares dry day every three months. There are 21 fixed dry days in a year in Delhi, which is the highest in the country. There is a ban on sale of liquor on dry day. Earlier, the Arvind Kejriwal government had released a list of dry days for the period from July 1, 2023 to September 30, 2023. The list included Muharram on 29th July, Independence Day on 15th August, Janmashtami on 07th September and Eid-e-Milad on 28th September. Let us tell you that in Delhi, festivals and election days are marked as dry days. On this day the government basically bans the sale of liquor. At the same time, when people do not observe dry day, the government also takes action against them.
