Closing of ‘Youth Festival’
Nagaon: The state level two-day ‘Youth Mahotsav’ organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan in collaboration with Don Bosco Institute, Guwahati at Don Bosco Institute premises, concluded on Thursday. More than five hundred participants from across the state participated in various competitions organized by the organizing agencies. The program was inaugurated by Jameel Hilali, Secretary, Sports and Youth Welfare Department, Government of Assam, in the presence of Xing Zilong, Regional Director of National Service Scheme, Dr. Hemant Rabha, National Award winner and expert in training and capacity building of ARIAS Society.
During the programme, various competitions including painting, mobile photography, group level cultural competition were organized among the participants in different groups.
State Sports and Energy Minister Nandita Garlosa attended the concluding session of the program as the chief guest, while local Guwahati MP Queen Oja was present as the special guest in the concluding session of the program. Eng Khung Guwang, Regional Director of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Shekhar Ranjan Deb, Pramathesh Chakraborty, Deputy Director of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan started the concluding session with a brief remark on the objectives of the programme. The Chief Guest and other invited guests presented prizes and certificates to the winners of various events.
It is pertinent to mention here that Barpeta district secured the first prize in the group level cultural competitions in the Youth Mahotsav, while Kamrup (Rural) and Kamrup (Metro) secured the second and third prizes respectively in the Youth Mahotsav.
