New Delhi: Elon Musk, owner of the largest electronic car company Tesla and X (Twitter), is now preparing to launch satellite internet in India. After expanding the satellite internet service business in western countries, now Elon Musk’s Starlink company is planning to capture the internet sector in India. With this step of Elon Musk, the troubles of Jio and Airtel, the top internet service companies in India, are sure to increase.
According to media reports, if Elon Musk’s Starlink company starts satellite internet service in India, then its price will be as cheap as Airtel and Jio, so that it remains within the reach of the common man. Satellite internet is kept in the most advanced category in terms of quality, as it does not suffer from interruptions due to repairs or weather. However, it usually costs a little more than wired and optical fiber internet. In India, Airtel and Jio are currently providing wired and optical fiber internet services. These two top companies have not yet started satellite internet service. In such a situation, consumers in India, which has the world’s largest internet users, will get the opportunity to avail the benefits of satellite internet service. Starting Elon Musk’s Starlink internet service in India can be a big profitable deal.
How satellite internet works:
This is satellite based internet, in which towers and optical fiber are not used. In this technology, the satellite is installed in the lower orbit of the Earth. This satellite establishes Internet connection from Earth’s orbit directly to consumers’ devices. Its speed and quality is much better than other internet. Whereas, in general internet service, networks are established with the help of towers and optical fiber.
