Attack on drug trade! 8 quintals of ganja seized, 3 smugglers arrested

Baghpat: The Baghpat Police has made significant strides in curbing the escalating drug trade within Uttar Pradesh. Three individuals have been apprehended in Baghpat on charges of illegal drug smuggling, leading to the seizure of a substantial consignment of 8 quintals of ganja.

This intercepted ganja consignment, valued at over Rs 1.25 crore, was being transported from Odisha to Haryana. The police halted a truck (RJ 40 GA 5843) for inspection near Gauri Jawaharnagar turn, where a thorough investigation revealed hidden sacks of cashew peels concealing 8 quintals and 17 kg of ganja within the vehicle.

Baghpat’s Senior Superintendent of Police, Arpit Vijayvargiya, confirmed the arrests of ganja smugglers Iqbal, Inam, and Madan Mohan Pradhan, all residents of Haryana and Odisha. Investigations into the matter are ongoing as authorities continue their scrutiny of the case.
