Husband killed his wife by hitting her with a shovel
Varanasi : On Wednesday morning, in the entire village of Mirzamurad police station area, his wife, who was working in the fields, was killed by a mad husband by hitting her on the neck with a shovel. Without informing the police, he cremated the body and ran away. When the police inspected the spot, they found blood spilled in the field. Police are investigating the incident. Ranjit Patel alias Bhrigu and his wife Kalavati Devi (55), residents of entire village of Mirzamurad area, were working in their fields. Suddenly there was some altercation between the husband and wife. During this time, the mad husband killed his wife by hitting her on her neck several times with a shovel. After the incident, the family cremated the woman without informing the police.
The news of the woman’s death gradually spread throughout the village. After informing the villagers, police station in-charge Mirzamurad Anand Chaurasia reached the spot and investigated and the matter was found to be true. A large amount of blood was scattered in the field. It was hidden by putting soil on it. The accused husband absconded after the incident. Family members said that Ranjeet was addicted to alcohol and had beaten his wife just six months ago. Due to this the shoulder bone was broken. Accused Ranjit’s father Shivdhar had hidden two shovels in the turmeric field and kept misleading the police. When the police took him into custody and interrogated him, they came to know that people had gone to Baraini Ghat of Mirzapur for cremation with the dead body of the woman. When a police team reached there no one was found. On receiving information about the incident, ADCP T Saravan, along with ACP and dog squad reached the police station and started investigation.
