Death due to Nadiad Ayurvedic syrup, Commissioner of Food and Drug Department gave statement
Gandhinagar: Three people have died after consuming Ayurvedic medicine in Bilodara village of Nadiad district. Meanwhile, it has come to light that the grocer who used to get Ayurvedic cough syrup medicine had recently applied for permission to manufacture this medicine. Manufacturer of Ayurvedic medicine in Gujarat: H.G. Kosiya said that there are 1415 Ayurvedic medicine manufacturers registered in the state of Gujarat. Whereas these manufacturers are producing Ayurvedic medicines in Gujarat and sending them to the country and abroad and the quality of all these items is also good. State government action: Five manufacturers of Ayurvedic medicines were registered in Gujarat. But at the end of the investigation it was found that such manufacturers were also selling the medicine on Panna Galla in Banaskantha, Disha, Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Kutch districts. Later the licenses of all the people were cancelled. Since permission is not given in Gujarat, medicines are manufactured from outside Gujarat and sold in Gujarat under fake names. Apart from this, the state government has also formed a committee and this committee will soon submit a report to the state government, in which it will also be decided how to stop illegal drugs coming from outside Gujarat.
