CMRL announces changes in Monday’s schedule due to cyclone
Chennai: With the Tamil Nadu government declaring a holiday on Monday due to Cyclone Michuang, the Chennai Metro Rail schedule has been changed for that day.
According to the press statement of Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), trains will run as per schedule from 5 am to 11 pm. At the same time, trains will be available every six minutes between 8 am to 11 am and from 5 pm to 8 pm.
Additionally, trains will be available every seven minutes in the schedules between 5 am to 8 am, 11 am to 5 pm and 8 pm to 10 pm. And, between 10 pm and 11 pm, trains will be available every 15 minutes on Monday, the press note said.
Meanwhile, CMRL has announced that the parking facility at St. Thomas Mount Metro station has been temporarily closed till 10 am on December 5.
Due to heavy rain, parking facility at St. Thomas Mount Metro station will remain temporarily closed till 10 am on December 5, 2023.
People are urged to utilize the parking facilities at Arignar Anna Alandur Metro and Nanganallur Road stations during this period,” the CMRL note clarified.
It also urged commuters who have already parked their vehicles at the St Thomas Mount Metro station to move their vehicles as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, the Chennai division of Southern Railway has confirmed that the Sunday pattern of suburban train services will be maintained in the Chennai Central – Arakkonam, Chennai Central – Sullurupeta, Chennai Beach – Chengalpattu and MRTS sections in the wake of cyclone Michong on Monday.
