A laborer was crushed to death with a stone over a dispute over Rs 500.
Jodhpur. Udaymandir police station arrested one person after a month, after revealing the case of murder of a laborer by crushing his head with a stone on the footpath near Ganesh temple located at Sojati Gate. In a dispute over five hundred rupees, as part of a well-planned conspiracy, he had murdered a laborer while he was sleeping and after changing his clothes, he ran away to Ramdevra in the crowd of Jatrus. Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Dr. Amrita Duhan said that Kesaram son of Phusaram, resident of Chandasani Chopra of Pali district, was working as a laborer in Jodhpur near Meghwala for the last one year and lived on the footpath. On the morning of 12th September, he was sleeping outside the juice shop near Sojati Gate Ganesh Temple. During this time some unknown person had killed him by crushing his head with a heavy stone. The death of the laborer came to light in the morning. When the body could not be identified, it was kept in the mortuary. During investigation he was identified as Phusaram. A case of murder was registered and search for the accused was started. After searching at possible places, Annaram alias Anil, son of Bhairaram Garasia, resident of Morakh village under Pindwara police station of Sirohi district, was arrested. Head constables Nandlal, Himmat Singh, Shyamlal, constables Surendra Singh and Bhanwarlal were involved in the action.
The footage of about two hundred CCTV cameras was scrutinized. During this period, the activity of one person appeared suspicious. The search for him was started under the direction of police station in-charge Premdan. Information was collected from people living on the footpath. To trace him, the police befriended the nomads. Head constables Nandlal and Himmat Singh identified the suspect as Annaram alias Anil Garasia. Then after investigation he was caught.
