A round of meetings at the BJP’s Gujarat headquarters for a landslide victory in the Lok Sabha elections
AHMEDABAD: After a massive victory in the 2022 Gujarat assembly elections and recognizing the importance of the state, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is wasting no time in holding frequent meetings at the party’s state headquarters to push for a massive victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as well. Is.
With high ambitions, the saffron party has set a target of winning over 400 seats in the coming Lok Sabha elections, which is much higher than the 303 it won in 2019. To achieve this feat, various groups affiliated to the BJP such as Mahila Morcha, Kisan Morcha and Minority Morcha have been entrusted with the responsibility of reaching out to voters across the country.
In Gujarat, the leader leading it was state BJP chief C.R. Patil, who played a key role in the party’s victory in the 2022 Gujarat elections. Patil has set a lofty target, which includes winning all the 26 Lok Sabha seats in the state with a margin of over five lakh votes each.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has great faith in Patil’s abilities, whose strategy is focused not only on achieving a perfect score of 26/26, a feat achieved by the BJP in both the 2014 and 2019 elections, but also on ensuring that Congress rivals perform so poorly that their deposits are forfeited.
The vote share of the party also increased. It got 62.2 percent of the vote, up from 60 percent in 2014. Patil attributes his confidence to the “Modi factor” and the state’s careful “panna pramukhs”. The BJP member said, “Whether it is district elections or Lok Sabha elections, we always work hard. For us the candidate is less important, victory more.
Since May 2023, the frequency of meetings at Gujarat BJP Headquarters, Kamalam has increased considerably. Patil has in recent days held individual meetings for party members coming from Ahmedabad, Patan and Sabarkantha districts. It saw the presence of around 300 district executive members, elected panchayat members and other invitees. Similar district-wise meetings are scheduled in the near future.
The discussions during these meetings revolved around the coordination of Panna Pramukhs with social media and related activities. These strategic sessions pave the way for effective communication and engagement as the party prepares. In the 2019 election, 15 BJP candidates won with a margin of over 3 lakh votes, which is significantly higher than just six in 2014. Only four constituencies – Dahod, Junagadh, Anand and Patan – had recorded a victory margin of less than two lakh votes.
In Navsari, Patil won the highest victory margin in the entire country, leaving behind even PM Modi. Keeping these achievements in mind, the confidence of the BJP remains high as it gears up for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
