A student was trapped by putting her photo in police uniform, then the young man started blackmailing her
Bilaspur: A student of Kotwali police station area fell into the trap of a young man who sent a friend request by posting a photo in police uniform on Facebook. After friendship, he sent her some personal pictures. After this the young man started blackmailing her. After the complaint of the girl, the police has arrested the accused.
According to the police, a young man sent a friend request to the victim girl on Facebook. The profile photo of the young man who sent it was in police uniform. The girl accepted the request. After this, chatting started between the two. Then the accused youth asked the girl for her mobile number and both of them started talking to each other. Then both of them also met each other in the city. Meanwhile, trusting the accused, the girl had also sent some of her personal photographs to the young man’s mobile phone.
After meeting her a couple of times, the accused youth started pressurizing her for marriage. On this the girl refused to meet him. On this the young man threatened the victim girl and demanded Rs 60 thousand. If the money was not paid, he threatened to make the private photographs viral on social media. Frightened, the girl sent him Rs 3,000 online. After this the young man started demanding Rs 57 thousand more. The girl complained about this and the Kotwali police arrested the accused Dharamdas Chandra (26 years) from his house in Singhora village of Malkhauda police station area of Sakti district. Action was taken against him under section 384 of IPC.
