A team of tusked elephants entered the village, wreaked havoc

Jashpur/Balrampur. A herd of 30 elephants is roaming in Jashpur and Balrampur districts of Chhattisgarh. Wherever the team of elephants is reaching, there is mischief. A herd of 30 elephants is roaming in the Jashpur forest division. Within the last fortnight, three people have lost their lives due to elephant attacks. Elephants have damaged 8 houses after reaching the rural areas, along with they have also licked the grains kept in the house. On the other hand, this morning almost a group of elephants reached towards Vadrafnagar of Balrampur. Where a herd of elephants fiercely destroyed the crop planted in about 40 acres of land.

A team of 30 elephants is roaming in Bagicha, Kansabel, Tapkara, Kunkuri and Narayanpur forest areas in Jashpur forest division. At the same time, they are creating a lot of uproar. Jashpur Forest Officer Jitendra Upadhyay said that in view of the loss of life and property caused by the elephant’s product, strict instructions have been issued to the rangers and beatguards of all ranges that in view of the movement of the elephant, the villagers in the affected area should be alerted at night. It is being advised not to leave the house. Along with this, it is also being advised to stay away from elephants.

Forest staff are also patrolling at night so that the villagers can be saved from the harm caused by the elephant’s produce. A herd of about 30 to 40 elephants reached Akwari Para in Kotrahi village near Vadrafnagar town of Balrampur district. The group of elephants has created a lot of uproar. In which the crop planted in about 40 acres has been destroyed. Elephants have ruined the cultivation of paddy, maize, seasonal vegetables and bananas in the fields of about 20 farmers. The villagers had informed the staff of the Forest Department in the night itself, but the staff did not reach. A herd of about 30 elephants is still roaming in the forests of village Kotrahi, due to which the villagers are looking very scared.
