A woman and a man died after drinking country liquor

Janjgir-Champa. A woman and a man died after drinking country liquor in Chhattisgarh’s Janjgir. The woman and the youth had come to the village to celebrate Raksha Bandhan. During this, both bought liquor from a person in the village and consumed it. After drinking alcohol, both started vomiting and diarrhea, after which they were brought to the hospital for treatment. Both died during treatment here.

According to the information, the incident is of Nawagarh police station area of Janjgir. The deceased Kiran Pradhan was a resident of Hanumanta village and along with his wife had gone to celebrate Raksha Bandhan at his maternal home, Amoda. Here Kiran Pradhan along with female relative Lalita Suryavanshi took country liquor from a person in the village and both of them drank. After drinking alcohol, the condition of both of them started deteriorating. The relatives hurriedly admitted him to Janjgir District Hospital. Both died during treatment here. Police has sent the bodies of both for postmortem. Along with this, the accused selling liquor is being searched.
