Raipur. Police have arrested a young man with a machete in Gudhiyari police station area of the capital. Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Aggarwal has asked the team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit along with all the gazetted officers and station in-charges of Raipur Police to collect information regarding those who roam around illegally carrying pistols and pistols and those who buy and sell them illegally. It has been verified and directed to effectively curb it and take action. On which all the police gazetted officers and station in-charges have prepared an action plan and to effectively curb this, information is being collected in this regard by appointing informers in their respective police station areas, as well as by patrolling and collecting information.

In the same sequence, on 14.10.2023, the team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit received information that a person was keeping a pistol near the Kali Mandir located in Janta Colony under Gudhiyari police station area. On receiving the information, Additional Superintendent of Police City Lakhan Patle, Additional Superintendent of Police Crime Mr. Pitambar Patel and City Superintendent of Police Urla Avinash Mishra, after verifying the information, in-charge Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit and police station in-charge Gudhiyari were directed to catch the accused red-handed with a pistol. . On which the joint team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit and Gudhiyari police station went to the said place and identified and arrested a person of the description described by the informer. During interrogation, the person revealed his name to be Gopal Ojha, resident of Gudhiyari Raipur. When the team members searched Gopal Ojha, he was found to have a pistol and live cartridges. During interrogation, the accused said that he brought Katta from Chhapra, Bihar. On which the accused Gopal Ojha was arrested and 01 no. of pistols and 02 nos. of live cartridges were seized from his possession and action was taken against the accused by registering crime number 463/23 under section 25, 27 of the Arms Act in police station Gudhiyari.
