Aam Aadmi Party worker shot dead in Tarn Taran, Punjab
A worker of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was shot dead by assailants in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district on Friday, police said.
The incident occurred when Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi Chohla was going to Kapurthala district in his car for a court case. He said, he was traveling alone.
Police said that when Singh reached the railway crossing between Fatehabad and Goindwal Sahib, the attackers who were following him opened fire indiscriminately at him and fled.
On receiving the information, policemen under the leadership of Deputy Superintendent of Police Ravisher Singh reached the spot. He said that several police teams have been formed to arrest the attackers.
