Abhishek Bachchan relives the memories of hoisting the tricolor in Melbourne
New Delhi (IANS). Actor Abhishek Bachchan shared memories of unfurling the tricolor during the Melbourne Film Festival with Indian cricketer Kapil Dev in the ‘Azadi Ki Kahani’ special episode of ‘India’s Best Dancer 3’.
On the stage of ‘Azadi Ki Kahani’ special episode of India’s Best Dancer 3, Abhishek highlighted the importance of Independence Day.
Abhishek Bachchan said, “We have traveled extensively. We have respect for other countries. But seeing India’s tricolor flag fluttering in the sky creates a unique feeling. It’s a great feeling. Home But we proudly hoist the flag and follow the protocol as per the rules.This moment reminds us of the sacrifices of our forefathers.”
He said, “I remember an extraordinary experience I had during a film festival in Melbourne. I was given the honor of hoisting the Indian flag at the Main Square, a momentous occasion as I had never officially hoisted a flag before. Spent this special moment with Kapil Dev ji which is memorable.”
The actor further added, “During the filming of ‘LoC’, I had the privilege of interacting with the army. A lieutenant colonel said something that still sticks in my memory. He said, the flag doesn’t fly only because of the wind. Rather, it rises higher than the sacrifice of the martyrs who lay down their lives.
Abhishek further added, “It reminds us of the struggles put up by our forefathers for our freedom. Let us honor their sacrifices on this important day, a day every Indian should respect.”
The episode will take the viewers on a touching journey highlighting India’s struggle for independence.
Contestant Boogie LLB and choreographer Saumya Kamble will pay a soulful tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. The duo’s performance will take the audience back to the momentous year of 1920, reflecting the spirit of the Non-Cooperation Movement and the spirit of the Indian people.
Complimenting the performance of the boogie, Abhishek said, “I don’t know much about dance, but the way you maintained your expression was amazing.
He shared, “The way you use your hands in dance has always been a challenge for me. When I dance, either my feet move or my hands move, but I love that How did you control your hands. If I get a chance, I will definitely do it.”
The ‘Azaadi Ki Kahani’ special episode will also feature Mahalakshmi Iyer, Kavita Seth, Shaan, Bikram Ghosh and Hariharan, who will also come to promote their upcoming song ‘Yeh Desh’.
