Accused of horrific road accident dies due to beating
Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi. A bike rider collided with a woman walking on the road in Basantpur of Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district. After this, the angry family members beat the man riding a motorcycle so much that he died during treatment. Now the family members of the person have registered a case against those who beat him and demanded their immediate arrest. The matter is of Pendra police station area. According to eyewitnesses, on the evening of Thursday 9th May, women were walking in the road. Meanwhile, Rama Panika was going from Pendra to Amandaand home on his bike. Then, while trying to save a small child, young Rama’s bike went out of control and collided with the woman.
Due to this the woman got hurt and people sent the woman to the hospital for treatment. The woman’s family members Jagjit Sahu, Durga Prasad Sahu and the female members of the house came together and started brutally beating the bike rider Rama Panika. People tried to convince them but the family members did not listen to anyone and beat the bike rider with kicks and punches, due to which the bike rider became infuriated. On receiving the information, the family members of the bike rider also reached the spot and with the help of an ambulance took the seriously injured Rama to the district hospital. Seeing his serious condition, the doctors referred him to Bilaspur.
The family took injured Rama to Bilaspur SIMS where he died due to serious body injuries during treatment. As soon as the information about the death was received, angry family members and members of the society reached Pendra police station and registered a case against the accused. The family members have demanded immediate arrest of the accused. It is being told that the accused who beat the person after his death are busy in destroying the evidence. The police have registered the case and started taking action after investigation. Rama was the only earning person in his family. He used to run his family by working as a daily wage earner. Rama’s wife has already died. Rama has a 10-year-old child, who lives with the young man’s elderly parents and has now lost his father.
