Achyuta Samanta demands more CGHS Wellness Centers for Odisha
New Delhi: Kandhamal Chief Minister Achyuta Samanta today demanded more Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) wellness centers for Odisha. Speaking during Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha today, Samant said there are only three CGHS wellness centers in Bhubaneswar, while Berhampur and Cuttack have one each.
However, the five CGHS Wellness Centers are not sufficient to provide healthcare to retired and serving central employees in the state. Therefore, there is a need to open more CGHS Wellness Centers in Odisha so that central employees as well as pensioners and people covered under this initiative such as public representatives and journalists can benefit.
Samant also thanked Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Chandra Shekhar Sahu, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and Rajeev Pratap Rudy, among other parliamentarians, who appreciated the extraordinary efforts in tribal education by KISS University, which Samant founded.
