Action on wheeled vehicles on Ring Road, 14 arrested
Bengaluru: Kamakshipalya traffic police have registered 10 cases and arrested 14 people, forming a separate team on the city’s Outer Ring Road and carrying out a special drive against bikers who were harassing motorists. DCP Urban West Division (Traffic) Anita Hadannavar, Inspector Yogesh S.T. on information from local people about night driving on Horvarthula Road of Nagarbhavi-Sumanahalli section and danger to public life. A team was formed under the leadership of. 10 cases have been registered and 14 two-wheelers have been detained. Police said the 14 arrested riders have been granted bail from the police station and their parents have been issued notices and questioned. They were driving dangerously on Sumanahalli Ring Road and harassing other motorists. They were also causing trouble to people by installing faulty silencers. After gathering information about this for several days, the traffic police conducted an operation in Mufti and arrested 14 bike riders. Bike riders formed teams for wheeling. Separate teams named Laggare and Malagala were formed for wheeling on the Ring Road. The vehicles were driven one after another, there was no DL, nor was there any insurance on the vehicles. They were driving with a faulty silencer which was causing excessive noise.
