Actor Kanan A Malhotra remembers Lal Bahadur Shastri
Mumbai (IANS). TV show ‘Ishq Ki Dastaan – Nagmani’ actor Kanan A Malhotra remembered former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birthday on October 2, saying that his contribution to the nation is a shining example.
The actor said, “Lal Bahadur Shastri’s life inspires us and it is important that we remember and honor his contribution to our nation.”
He said, “He is a shining example of leadership and commitment towards the nation. We should always remember and celebrate the life of this great leader, he has made significant contribution in building modern India.”
Actor Kanan is currently playing the role of Gunojirao in the historical drama ‘Punyashlok Ahilyabai’. He remembers Shastri ji as a person of simplicity and honesty.
The actor said, “He left an indelible mark on the history of the country through his selfless service, unwavering commitment to the principles of truth and non-violence. He was a simple and honest man who became the Prime Minister of India.
He is known for his leadership during a critical period in our country’s history, especially during the India-Pakistan war of 1965.”
Kanan said that he taught the country about the importance of farmers.
The actor said, “Shastri ji’s famous slogan, ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’ (Victory to the soldier, victory to the farmer) highlighted the importance of both our armed forces and our farmers. It was he who understood the hard work of farmers.”
He said, “His leadership in times of crisis exemplified his dedication to the welfare of the people and the sovereignty of our nation. “He led India with humility and determination and earned the respect of citizens and leaders around the world.”
Kanan further said, “This day is an opportunity to reflect on his values of honesty, simplicity and dedication to public service. Let us draw inspiration from his life and commit to working for the betterment of our country.”
Kanan has acted in shows like ‘Suryaputra Karna’, ‘Karmaphal Data Shani’, ‘Mahakali – Anth Hi Aarambh Hai’, ‘RadhaKrishna’.
