Additional charge of Protocol Branch assigned to Joint Collector
Durg. As per the instructions of Collector Richa Prakash Chaudhary, from the administrative point of view, Harvansh Singh Miri, Joint Collector, District Durg has been given the additional charge of the Protocol Branch along with the tasks assigned to him.
Divisional Commissioner and Collector inspected Madho Vatika (Thagada Dam)
Madho Vatika (Thagada Dam) beautification and picnic spot has been constructed at a cost of Rs 16 crore by Municipal Corporation Durg under Municipal Corporation Durg and Bhilai border area. The island built in the middle of the dam and the milky light on the pathways built around it have enhanced the beauty of this dam. Divisional Commissioner Shri S¬.N. on Monday evening at 7 pm. Rathore and Collector Ms. Richa Prakash Choudhary along with the officials went around and observed the beautification of Madho Vatika (Thagada Dam). On this occasion, he also enjoyed motor boating in the dam with the officers and enjoyed Chhattisgarhi cuisine while sitting in Chowpatty. During the inspection, the Collector talked about starting the train system soon for the people visiting the picnic spot and in case of water shortage, filling water from the canal before summer. Municipal Corporation Commissioner Chandrakar informed that due to the beautification of this dam spread over about 45 acres, facilities like delicious food items along with entertainment for children etc. have been made available to the city residents along with their families.
Beautification like landscaping, lighting, entertainment activities etc. has greatly enhanced the beauty of Thagada Dam. He informed that the newly built Chandrayaan-3 mobile model at Madho Vatika (Thagada Dam) has been dedicated to the common citizens of the city for display. The Divisional Commissioner also saw its exhibition along with the officials. He said that the live model of Chandrayaan-3 installed in the picnic spot will provide information about the launch of Chandrayaan to school children as well as adults. This will satisfy their curiosities, which will make it easier for children to understand the finer aspects of science. People will be able to enjoy boating, Chowpatty, various games and swings as well as live Chandrayaan-3 model. Collector Ms Chaudhary asked the officials to further improve all the arrangements of the garden. Corporation Commissioner Shri Chandrakar informed that an action plan is proposed to create a pathway for people to walk around the Thagada Dam and to lay black soil along with deepening to stop water leakage of the dam and to use water from the canal for water filling. Other officials of the Municipal Corporation were also present on this occasion.
