Adilabad: Dairy farmers threw milk on the road in protest against delay in payment of bills
Adilabad: Dairy farmers on Monday dumped milk on the road here in protest against the delay in payment of bills by the government-owned Vijaya Dairy. Dairy farmers belonging to several parts of the district gathered at the district centre and staged a protest. They urged the officials of the government dairy to pay their pending bills.
They said that due to the delay in payment of bills they are unable to buy fodder for their cattle and meet day-to-day expenses. The protesting farmers said that the officials told them that the bills would be paid in a fortnight. However, they said that not a single penny has been paid so far. They requested the government to take steps to resolve their problem. They want the bills to be paid every fortnight.
