After the road accident, Harish Rawat advised ‘complete rest’ for 20 days
Former Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat has been advised “complete rest” for 20 days by doctors after a road accident on Tuesday, an aide of the Congress leader said.
Almora MLA Manoj Tiwari said Rawat (75) was admitted to Jolly Grant Hospital here on Wednesday night after complaining of back pain and neck pain.
Tiwari said, after the examination, doctors advised Rawat to take “complete rest” for 20 days.
Rawat’s car collided with a divider in Uttarakhand’s Udham Singh Nagar district when he was going from Haldwani to Kashipur in Udham Singh Nagar with some supporters late on Tuesday night.
Police said the driver lost control while trying to overtake another vehicle near Bazpur railway crossing and the car crashed into the divider.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Congress leader had said on Twitter that he suffered a slight shock when his car collided with a divider, after which he went to the hospital for a checkup.
He said doctors told him everything was fine and he was discharged. He had said, “There is no need to worry. I and my colleagues are fine.”
