Ahmedabad: ‘Operation Sagar Suraksha Kavach’ organized to strengthen maritime security
Security agencies have launched a special exercise to curb drug smuggling activities from the coast and strengthen maritime security. Operation Sagar Suraksha Kavach is being carried out in the coastal districts of the state for two days from Tuesday. As beautiful as the beach of Gujarat is, it is also considered as sensitive. Because India’s sea border is also located here. Coasts are also considered vulnerable because drugs, weapons or any other criminal activity can be infiltrated from the coast. In such a situation, all the security agencies are practicing for the safety of the sea. Presently Operation Sagar Suraksha Kavach is being implemented in 12 coastal districts.

Sagar Suraksha Kavach is organized twice a year. The exercise is being conducted to enhance coordination among security agencies. In which Indian Coast Guard and Marine Police will be seen demonstrating their strength in sensitive and highly sensitive areas. The boats and people coming here will be checked continuously for 48 hours. This exercise is being done to establish coordination among all the security agencies.
